Sometimes it's difficult to be charitable when your budget is tight and the future is uncertain. After all, your family comes first. But many types of charitable gifts enable you to make a significant donation while saving taxes or receiving income in return.

• A gift in your will or revocable living trust. Known as a bequest, this form of giving is accomplished simply by including a few sentences in your will or living trust. • A gift of your IRA or retirement plan assets. You can name the City College Fund as the primary or contingent beneficiary on the plan's beneficiary designation form.
